I had someone recently to ask whether a rotten tooth cause arthritis?  Personally as registered nurse I have not heard of any direct link of tooth problems and arthritis.  But I’m pretty sure that it can cause other health problems.  I’m also aware that a rotten tooth can kill you eventually due to infection especially if the infection gets in the blood causing septicemia.  Arthritis is a degenerative joint disease that effects bones and connective tissues causing joint pain and joint stiffness.  Your gums in your teeth are connective tissues but to me it would be far fetch to think that a rotten tooth causes osteoarthritis.  Now rheumatoid arthritis because infection can set in so maybe there is something but I think further research is needed to try to connect the dots if there is any connection.

There is a connection. Any infection in your body will deplete your body of minerals. The infection uses up the minerals faster than the body can replace them in a lot of cases. The word Arthritis has the "itis" at the end that means infection. It is actually an infection of the bone.

The teeth have specific connections to various parts of the body. When you get an infection there, it can reflex to particular organs and cause the organ to go weak and eventually fail. As an example, the two molars next to the wisdom teeth in the mouth have a direct connection to the heart muscle and arteries around the heart. If you have infection in those teeth, you can develop heart problems. When you correct the teeth problem, in many cases the heart problem goes away. Amalgam fillings ALWAYS have infection under them. When you remove them, the infections are revealed. Root canals done using gutta percha, typical crowns where dentists hide the amalgam coating on the underside of those crowns develop infections. Many problems in the body are caused by bad dentistry. The primary causes of these infections in the teeth and body are typically due to bad diet. Arthritis can go away, it is not a death sentence as many would have you believe.

    good luck to you

A rotten tooth as you call it, is a bacterial infection. Yes, you can die from untreated bacterial infections, but with all of the medications and treatments available, that would be dumb.

Bacterial infections are not the cause of degenerative diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, and cancer. Basically, they are caused by prolonged malnutrition and genetic heredity. As such, they can often be prevented with proper nutrition.

A well-balanced nutritional program including minerals, trace elements, vitamins, anti-oxidants, and multiple kinds of fiber and protein, is the foundation for building a healthy mind and body.

I don’t think so, but if you have a rotten tooth, you need to get it replaced with a fake one, ASAP.

there is a subject know as foci of infection. Usally due to bad gum & teeth, the abcess can travel to other parts of the body & get lodged there. It could lead to arthritis, skin infection, heart problems, etc. So have good teeth & gums.
