Ibuprofen! And glucosamine/chondroitin supplements. I didn’t believe in the latter ’til I used them, but they DO work!
Avoid squatting or anything that puts your knee at a greater than ninety-degree angle. When the pain is gone, try exercises that build up your quadriceps (like leg-lifts. You can do them sitting in a chair or on a weight machine).
What this does is strengthen the muscle so that the JOINT (which is really pretty weak) doesn’t have to do all the work.
Activity is the key, along w/plenty of water and the supplements above.
