Start with drinking "a lot more water" and less soda.., if that is not something you already do. – Water is great for stiff joints. Also, if you work at a desk, lift you leg up and slide a box under your foot. If you are resting in the same position for extended amounts of time at home, change that position to one that is easier on the angel of the knee. Try some simple leg stretching exercises daily.
