To be more exact, the pain is on the sides of my knee and as I stated above, the pain seems to travel up to my hip area. I am 22, 6’0" and weigh 315 pounds. My job involves me standing for extended periods of time. As far as I know, I don’t have arthritis or anything of the sort. Also, when I am down on my right knee, it has a grinding feeling when I move on it.

A grinding feeling in the joint area such as of the knee can indicate that the cartilage can be an indication of arthritis (an example only but it can occur for many reasons in those that have it), but it sounds more like you may have an issue with a nerve such as the sciatic nerve (the nerve that runs from the hip area down to the leg, but this is another example only).
The only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they say.
