BREAST-FEEDING: SSM St. Joseph Hospital West, 100 Medical Plaza in Lake Saint Louis, offers breast-feeding classes for women who are planning to breast-feed and for those who have not yet decided. It is designed for mothers, fathers, grandparents and support persons and includes information on how the breast makes milk, how to establish a good milk supply, avoiding sore nipples and nurturing the breast-feeding family. First aid with CPR/AED training (adult) – 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 26. This course trains lay responders to recognize and respond to emergency situations and care for life-threatening respiratory and cardiac emergencies in people over 12 by providing care to help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. Learn to care for conscious and unconscious choking victims, perform CPR, use an AED and other skills. Students will receive a CPR/AED certificate valid for one year and first aid certificate valid for three years. Class costs $55. If you need only the CPR/AED Adult training, you may register for the first 4 hours of the course for $44. For just the first aid component, register for the last two hours for $33.

Designed for people who have current CPR certification, this course trains lay responders to recognize and respond to an emergency and give care to help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. Students will receive a First Aid certificate valid for one year. Participants must present a current, within one year CPR certification to be eligible. Class costs $33.
CPR/AED training adult and child plus CPR training infant – 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Sept. 18. This course trains lay responders to recognize and respond to emergency situations and care for life-threatening respiratory and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants. Learn to care for conscious and unconscious choking victims, perform CPR and use an AED. Students will receive a CPR/AED Adult and Child plus CPR Infant certificate valid for one year. Class costs $54.
