Trying to find the right knee exercise for a person with knee joint pain can be a challenge for a lot of reasons.  First of all, you have to find exercises that are low impact that wont further damage the knee and because you are in pain, you want to find a exercise that is not painful to do.  So what type of knee execise fit this criteria. Also lots of track athletes do this type of exercise to help build knee strength as well.  This type of knee exercise is no impact and it is low speed, so it should be easy on the knee joints or try kicking with a kickboard, either with arms extended or kickboard hugged to your chest, and do flutter kick, your knees will stay pretty much straight. You could also do lots of sit-ups because this a low impact knee exercise believe it or not.  Also here is a knee exercise video you can watch for a low impact knee workout. You might just have to learn to deal with some pain while exercising, as hard as that is. Is a little knee pain worth more years on the life? Sounds like a frustrating situation but I hope you can find a knee exercise that works for you.

    i also have shoulder a knee pains especially when i do a days house work i took some ibuprofen 4mgs for a week now the pains have stopped when they come back i do the same its getting older I’m afraid but that helped me takes the swelling down try and see
