Conceiving
Knowing the fertile time in a woman’s cycle is important for knowing the best time to conceive – but it is a somewhat multi-faceted phenomenon to understand. Firstly when an egg is released it will only live a short time, a maximum of 24 hours and if two eggs are released in one ovulation cycle then that means only around two fertile days in a month. If we factor in the man’s part, then his sperm can live for about five days maximum, so combined there is only around a one week window of fertility each month. The presence of fertile cervical fluid which resembles eggwhites is the best indication that the fertile time has arrived, however this may only last a couple of days.
